From the First Breath
From first breath, I knew I’d arrived
Greeted by an Earthy balm not unlike Patchouli,
I made my way through the village to my rooms.
It filled the air
I felt slightly intoxicated
The shadows of Palm laced my skin in the sun,
A serenade, the breezy rhythm of an undulating sea, guided me along.
At last, I was here.
I traveled alone. A cordial hint of danger heightened my awareness as
I prepared for dinner.
Nourished by a tropical harvest and liquor of plum and cherry,
I walked into the night.
Hearing voices, I stopped as something touched my shoulder.
I woke up.
It had been just a dream.
