Frank Hank

There was once a daydreamer called Hank.
It was thought that he was just a crank.
He was labelled a con.
His ideas caught on.
Then he ran all the way to the bank.

Quote from Mark Twain:
“A crank is someone with a new idea, until it catches on.”

I had not heard of crank even though you have the quote of it from Twain, but your limerick does a great job illustrating that word. GREAT job and congrats in my contest, Paul.

Several years ago there was also a humorous film called "Crank"...nothing to do with Twain! Thank you for inserting my Frank Hank in your winners' list. Have a lovely week! // paul

A great choice of quote and a great Limerick, Paul. Topically, one of our best inventors, Trevor Bayliss, developed the first battery-free wind-up radio. Operated by a crank. Congratulations, regards, Viv

Hi Viv, thank you...I've heard of Trevor Bayliss (isn't he a cricketer:)) Joking apart, I've also heard of the inventor you mention. I also remember trucks and cars being started by means of a handle. Regards....paul
