Fragrant the Petals
Fragrant the petals
Time moves so quickly
the sun comes to play
Caressing my thoughts
on this cold winter day
Soon it will follow
the path of my dreams
While looking for flowers
along gentle streams
A dozen or more
by the waters a’ flow
Fragrant the petals
this morning to show
That this day is special
as one I do care
Is waiting my poem,
my words here to share
For she says she’s never
it’s hard to believe
A Valentine message
her heart to receive
So here I have penned her
a wondrous bouquet
Of poetic flowers
so that I may say
You’ve touched me in ways
I have not known before
Inspired my smile,
my laughter and more
So now I must ask you
if that would be fine
If you would agree to be
my Valentine
