Fractals. Spawn of iterating quadratic functions. Choreographers of cosmic conjunctions. Impervious to human dysfunctions. Makers of multiverses. Encoders of creations. Limited only by imaginations. Recursive. Coercive. Immensely immersive. Purveyors of poetic creative cursive. With formative fractals you’ll melt your mind’s shackles and be anywhere that you may want to be. You can form fractals to your own reality, and make anything in the sky or the sea. You can even repurpose them to poetry … Yes, if fractals were dactyls they’d flow off the page, whirling and twirling, sublime. Freeing us, being us, thoughts disengage, teasing and pleasing with rhyme, reaping the rhythms of time. From mundane equations that yet yield complex repetitive patterns that please and perplex, come fractals so beautiful in all respects. Constructors of coastlines and snowflake concerns, foundries for forests, and feathers, and ferns, the deeper you dive they have more twists and turns. Generators of patterns, like veins in a leaf, and the branches of trees, shapes of every motif. Look around, everywhere, there are fractals, good grief! From the large to the small and still smaller they flow, simple patterns repeating, yet different, you'll know that there’s just no escaping the great fractal show. So, let’s face them, embrace them, we’ll host history. Let us master them, plaster them, I guarantee: merge your mind into fractals, you’ll set your soul free. Eric, fascinating exploration of fractal concepts applying to (basically) everything. It will be interesting to see the new images coming in from the James Webb observatory and see how deep space corresponds to (or improves upon) our present fractal understanding. Great write, congrats for your win!

John, glad you found this interesting. The James Webb is off to a great start despite some meteor impacts. The images so far are awe-inspiring. Thanks for the visit.

Eric, you have taken the sublime creation of fractals and turned them into poetry of the subline to "set your soul free." Marvelous images and poetic phrases. Congratulations on your win! Sending you fractals of blessings.

A beautiful poem, Eric. Coincidentally, I used to form fractal paintings to put on tiles. They can be lovely, and, reiterating, become the original leaves. The connection between all things, perhaps? Congratulations on your win!

Hi Ann. Thanks. Very interested in your tile work. I think tiling is not easy, especially fractal design, but can be very beautiful. Best to you. ~Eric

Glad you enjoyed it, John. And thanks for the thoughtful comments and for sponsoring this contest. Count me in for a fractured fractal contest, or maybe one on quantum mechanics? Poetry is a great bridge to many topics. ~Eric

Your poem, Eric, is a Kaleidescope, just like the (almost Dr. Who like) graphics and imagery I watched following your link. What a fascinating, clever and deeply immersive piece you've written here about the subset of Euclidean space with a fractal dimension that strictly exceeds its topological dimension. :) I really enjoyed it! Cheers - Gary
