Fragile Promises
Promises are not like diamonds or steel.
Many times, they cannot be perceived to be real.
They appear to be soft, and without mass.
Often, they can shatter like thin glass.
Those were like the promises you made to me.
How they turned out to be perfunctory.
Just like the darkness before the dawn,
I closed my eyes, and you were gone.
