Four Simple Words

Do you trust me? That is a rather difficult question to answer While I would love to answer yes confidently I realized that wouldn't be wise of me You and I… have an unique past Because of that, I trust you a lot more than most people But at the same time, I don't trust you one bit You… you helped save me in the past many times Even from my worst enemy: myself You stopped me from making the worst decision ever I can't ever thank you enough for that But you also wounded me tremendously You betrayed me in the worst way possible I almost drowned in my sorrow I can't even start to forgive you for that I hope that does answer your question You are someone I can trust and don't at the same time

Hello Christopher, Oh, trust issues. i do understand trust issues. I did not trust my husband when h cheated on me. In fact i asked him why he did it. He refused to tell me. He passed, and now i will never know. The last line is also what i did to trust him. Yet when he cheated I did not trust him. blessing my friend Darlene

I wonder if this poem has a secret message. Is this a poem to yourself? The last line leaves the question unanswered. I enjoy the cerebral content of your poem.
