Forgotten Treasure

FORGOTTEN TREASURE

I've found the fountain of youth
When I stumbled across the forbidden garden
Right in the middle of everything
Was what I imagined being a wishing well
I at once tossed a quarter into the sea
Facing down, puzzled as can be
I peeked in to ensure where it fell
I tipped over and that's when I saw my vanity
It was sitting there waiting for me
The reflection was before this day and age
I thought, what could this be?
With one drop on my taste buds
I knew I found the one true key
The most beautiful thing that can set one free
I reached in to touch the poetry inside me

Very nicely done, Skat. As has been said, you really do know how to turn a phrase. I like surprises anyway. This was a pleasant one. Well done. So my journey through the corridors of your creative soul begins here. May you live long and prosper. Love and peace.

Thank you for welcoming me Skat, that was very nice of you. Upon discovering all of the poems you have written I decided to start at the first poem you submitted. By doing this I hope to gain better insight to your writing. I enjoyed this poem so I do look forward to reading them all. Thank you again.

Hi Skat, i have to say that i am glad you found the key and opened the locked door to the poetry within you. It would have been such a travesty if it hadn't. It is sad that your poetic voice has been stilled. Here we have the first and it sings into me. You are a modern poet with dreams to tell. Here one can see the talent shine. An excellent first write my friend. This has to be a seven and a fav. Love....Mike. XX

Well I figured since you commented on my first poem I might as well do the same. Poetry seems to be a way for your continued existence to be sustained, as shown through the variety of your works. Most of which are truly profound and wonderful. I hope you continue as you are, ever exploring the written word. Discovering meaning to yourself and graciously sharing it with others. I started writing a while back and can just barely find the courage even now. I hope I hear more from you in the future.

You know the old saying "Curiosity Killed the Cat?" Well, it seems like many others I was curious about your beginning here, but for me curiosity, made the cat roll over and purr a lot. A beautiful beginning, SKAT.
