Forgiveness ... usually has no beginning and an end that is equally so, where self admonishment resonate from errs hollow search for resolve, when blameworthy takes center stage and the fault claims clueless to absent wisdom, tethering furtherance of the unresolved, as more clouds obscure the wholeness of the picture, that only the passage of time enjoys the moments of its waste, and all the while at the far end of a darkening hole, the edging of a tunnel stands a true friend who has a name ... ... waiting.

I really like how you approached the poem, it is very different to other entries I have seen and you have described it with poetic intelligence.. It is not easy to forgive even though all faiths preach it, and then there is the case of having to forget.. I know there are some things people have done to me where I cannot forgive them and I definitely will not forget... how can you trust someone who has broken that with you... Great poem Hilo..

Thank you, Silent One. Mom takes credit here, --dad's out. I thought that my writing might take a 'Wild West' approach, so I added a line to emphasize 'the friend'. I'm not sure if we may have crossed its point of entry. Here's to 2024, my friend. Aloha, William
