Forgive My Greed
I drilled a hole in the bottom of the nest
of the goose that laid the golden egg,
and today, in sorrow, I have confessed,
as, your mercy, dear Lord, I humbly beg.
The egg, from the nest, through the hole, it rolled,
and fell upon my wretched, upturned head.
and, now, my Lord so dear, I ask a thousand-fold,
don't leave me 'neith this goose house dead.
