Forever Young In Dreamland

Gettin old dreamin about my first true love Adonis at nineteen. Dreamin about the wave in his hair and comin apart at the seams. Wearin an odd sock on each foot not even the same color it seems. But, dreamin about the men gone by as the leaves fall fast from the trees. Gettin old and some visions dim yet others come crisp in dreams. Ah, remember Adonis and coming apart at the seams.

Sometimes the dream of Adonis, is better than the reality....(just go back to a High School Reunion...that can knock the wind out of a dream!) LoL! I like to keep my dreams intact!! So I avoid reunions!!

I think we can all relate to this one. I interpret it to represent your first true feelings of love, and how it relates to your life as new men enter it. Beautiful poem. Cody Shepherd
