I enter
the third season of my life
approaching my Autumn years
I marvel
at the shriveled withered leaves
as they silently swirl in the wind
I see
russet, brown and golden ones fall
their decay will soon rejuvenate the soil
I bend
to examine a fallen wrinkled leaf
its veins a reminder of aged wizened hands
I know
my final wish will be granted
when I'm scattered like leaves upon the ground
