Forever, and a Day

A heart left alone,
to smother, and die,
releases much pain,
but never cries.

Forgotten, and bitter,
tied with grief,
etched on your face,
for all to see.

Forgive, and be forgiven,
is the only way,
a heart full of sunshine,
forever, and a day.

Two powerful and bitter verses, and then the resolution into redemption... a marvelous piece Christy! Best wishes, Keith

aww this is so sweet, it is true that people who hurt others can cause them to be bitter, but forgivnes is the greatest way of release just like your poem ays and if we forgive others then God will forgive us too when we make mistakes. a great write from diane

Whatever you write is straight from your beautiful heart. Christy, I am missing Tom so much this time of year especially. Did you notice they featured one of his poems this week? I cried my eyes out reading. Sometimes I just go to his poems as a source of comfort, but this was unexpected and it took me by surprise. Anyway, I remember how he loved you and the wonderful friendship we shared with him. I feel him close by. Love you, Shar xoxo

This is such a nice poem. I can relate to them so well. Forgive and be forgiven that's the way, but can you always forgive and can they always forgive you? Sometimes only the most sincere of your tears aren't forgiven. Sending blessings to you in this holiday season. Love, Chitra

The forgiving part is the hard part, but as your words so aptly say...the only way to true happiness. Well done, Christy!~ Carrie
