Forest Life

I don't remember falling, I must have done some how. I don't remember being buried, I must have been, because now, I'm struggling to fight my way, Back into the light of day. I cannot see but I feel the warm, The damp earth still clings to me, I feel this is something that has to be. Here in this place I know I am safe, Surrounded by those greater than me. I am one among many while I grow, I fell from a tree for nature to sow. In years to come you may fail to see, Me hiding there in the forestry. A mighty Oak will be my destiny, For I dear reader am a sapling tree. © Dave Timperley 19/10/2019
