“May all that is unlived in you blossom into a future graced with love.”

- John O'Donohue

Shinrin-yoku: Shinrin in Japanese means "forest," and yoku means "bath.' It basically means that one should spend more time with nature.

Listen to poem:
Stretch out your arms Lie on the mossy forest floor Feel the cooling fronds On your back Be embraced. Join the family of trees As they chemically chatter Beneath you. Silently. Interlope and envelope An exciting vibrancy Of Autumnal shades Before Wintery sleep pervades Douse your soul In the pine scented oil Of calm, ancient, understanding Bathe in the beauty Of stillness.. (Ssshhh)

Oh theres something absolutely magical about stillness and silence, so as i read that last line “ bathe in the beauty of stillness i couldnt help but be in awe and resonate with that, how we sometimes long for that amidst all the chaos of life. Something about nature speaks to us, and puts us in a tranquil state of mind! Your word play here is clever and very eloquent and your thoughts flow in such a meticulous rhythm, with such intricate imagery! So serene and symphonic. Loved reading this!

Dear Ink - you always lift my spirits with your kind words! This is the first time anything I have written has been described as symphonic :) We all need peace and stillness sometimes - even the extroverts. I'm glad you loved it :))

You are welcome to revisit as often as you like, Sara. More of a meditation than a poem, I suppose.. but your comments warm my heart. Thank you :))
