For Them, He Now Barely Exists

Forlorn and forsaken, for them he now barely exists
Alive but forgotten, his soul pines away, alone and lonely
They leap and laugh and love, leading their merry lives
Drained of joy he waits, longing for a glimmer, a spark

Alive but forgotten, his soul pines away, alone and lonely
Today is his birthday; might they send greetings his way
Drained of joy, he waits, longing for a glimmer, a spark
Will they pick up the phone, sing him a gay melody

Today is his birthday; might they send greetings his way
The afternoon shadows lengthen; the daylight grows dim
Will they pick up the phone, sing him a gay melody
Hope crawls into a corner and wipes a tear from its eye

The afternoon shadows lengthen, the daylight grows dim
They head off to a gala evening; fate seals his cruel decree
Hope crawls into a corner and wipes a tear from its eye
They drink, they eat, they are merry; all's well in their world

They head off to a gala evening; fate seals his cruel decree
They leap and laugh and love, leading their merry lives
They eat, they drink, they are merry; all's well in their world
Forlorn and forsaken; for them, he now barely exists...

As well one should. He doesn't deserve the treatment he gets, but such is too often the way of the world...

It took me a few seconds to figure out what you meant by 'tough form.' I think I've got it now, though. Thank you very much, Charlie. Best wishes, Gershon
