For the Royal Derriere

Royal and regal, adorned in the finest of gold I am on which kings do so rely Don’t take me for weak because I might look old As I am strong and for my king, I would die I was there in the beginning and ever there still I bear the words, the decrees, I see it all When men are honored, I am there still And when others are punished, I see them fall Kneel before me, oh yes, you shall do As I am more than the bloodline, the royal regard Though soft is my lining, I am the greatest support I may be so comforting, but also rigid and hard On days when events are occurring outside I stand on my balcony to witness the thrills The victor he bows before me, courtesy For the loser cannot, as he was just killed Some say I’m medieval, I say that I’m not My lines have cleaned up a bit, for the day My legs don’t move, they’re still, defined For that reason, I am also on display I’ve had many a predecessor, a grandfather you’d say Which would be so identified by the king who shared But I’m here now and into each morrow As I hold a queen’s power, of this I swear
