OMG my mind immediately went to the worst case scenario then quickly overrode with the notion of overabundance. In spite of me preferring the less likely option B, I find this a very powerful write. Congrats on your well deserved top win, John.

It's heartbreaking to think of the preparations couples make when a baby is on the way, only to suffer such a terrible loss. In just eight words, you brought tears to my eyes. Huge congrats on your top win, John! Hugs, Carolyn

your meaning is obvious and so sad, john, but i just keep hoping that maybe that baby just outgrew them before she had a chance to wear them. (i'm not usually an optimist, though.) ~ great poem - best of luck in the contest...

Thank you, Michelle. One of my rare sad writes. I learned late in my Mother's life that she suffered 4 miscarriages before I was born. It weighs heavy on me knowing what she and my Dad must have gone through.
