Author’s Notes: “For Our Love So True” is a classic Rondeau style poem I finished on November 18, 2017. This Rondeau is composed of fifteen verses divided stanzaically into a Quintet, a Quatrain, and a Sestet. Each verse (except for the shorter "refrain verse" at the end of stanzas two and three) is scored at ten syllables. The Rhyming Scheme for the three stanzas is: aabba | aabR | aabbaR. And the Rentrement (or Refrain) is indicated in the Rhyming Scheme by the capital "R" at the end of the Quatrain and the Sestet. (Note: The syllable count for the refrain expression, "For our love so true," is five syllables.) The message of this Rondeau is based on the romantic motif that "a true love between two people lasts forever." I melded this theme into the greater ethereal notion that a true love between two mortals is indeed part of God's greater divine love as souls eventually leave their earthly mortal coil and make their ascension to Heaven in the presence of and assistance from angels. (At least, this is what I've tried to metaphorically represent here.) Enjoy the uplifting message of this very special poem. (Gary Bateman – November 19, 2017) (Rondeau)

For Our Love So True
For our love so true lasts now forever
For I knoweth I shall leave you never,
Here on Earth ‘n later in Heaven’s light,
Whilst God is with us on this cosmic night,
Angels sing to us with all due pleasure.
Our passions are beyond mortal measure,
As we walk tonight, hands held together,
We know our emotions feel now so right
For our love so true.
God’s divine love is our special treasure,
Our souls, are bound now together ever,
We ascend now with the angels in flight,
We bask in God’s holy blessings tonight.
With our souls now one, no one can severe
For our love so true.
