For My Dearest Beloved
As I watch your eyes glowing by candlelight;
My quivered hands labor to arrange my thoughts
In the near call of evening’s final anthem--
How this soul dares for one precious moment
Which needs to hold you in my ocean of silence,
And perhaps , when I enter into a flight at rest
Today’s rain would cleanse away all my offenses,
Allowing us to drink life’s sweet ambrosia…
Like the first coo of our newborn, ordeals turning
Into headways, soft dances after a foolish rift;
That my heart rejoices-- for you are the only anchor
Grounding me from dark waters, propped by
An Indulgence of love when lost dreams find
Me captive— your gentle strength abides, unflagging,
Then to be life’s calming tide whistling on our trails
I shall yearn for your caress, your nectar of wine—
Until rainfall ceases, my fragrance of endless ardor
Will linger upon pillows of a co-owned bed… Quietly,
Look upon moonbeam’s eyes… Darling, I am there.
