For Milt - Our Kentucky Friend

A friend was he to you and me. Like me, he was a poet and a teacher, Gosh, I think he’d even been a preacher! I liked that he enjoyed using lots of poetry forms and also that he stuck to grammar rules even though not everyone might find that cool! His soul was true to what he knew, and if with him I disagreed, there would never be a need for us to hurl words at one another that were cruel. I liked that he was kind. In that regard, we were of the same mind. New Year's Eve 2022 First time entered in a contest. Submitted for Brian Strand's 'You Select" contest

Well done Andrea, what more can I put? I also was surprised to find out he did 40 years preaching.? Hmm God knows All things though' and He is full of great Mercy.. You may recall thoughts I'd raised In passing with you? On Milton maybe God was not intending to let him go? he'd Really thawed toward me, some time before He changed his address; God bless.'

Gosh Andrea, you really hit the 'nail on the head' with your tribute to Milton. I have not been on Poetry Soup in the last several months but when I saw that he had passed, I felt a great sadness. He was everything you have poetically described him to be. I will attempt to put my feelings into words that I hope will give him the honor he deserves. Thank you for sponsoring this contest as you have stepped up in the past...remembering Connie Marcum and I am sure, others before her. Paulette

Beautiful Andrea, he was very respectable, and yes, he had been a preacher :) He was way up there, with degrees, many published works, and an educator as well. What an amazingly accomplished life. This is a wonderful tribute to Milton <3
