For Love is but a Word

For love cannot abide a troubled soul Nor hold the trembling hand of aging fear Lest it succumb as doubt makes it less whole And yet deny its presence drawing near For love is not a shallow water dream It rages ‘neath the calm of surface lie Its depth the chilling darkness of a scream That knows its aching fever will not die Thus, do the lovers dance ‘round fires flame The heat of endless passion counting coup Denying that two hearts could be the same While both the dancing lovers know it’s true For love is but a word misunderstood By those who would define it if they could

This sounds Shakespearean in its sonnet form and also in the language and syntax. It seems to have an authority to state a definition of love while at the same time avoiding defining it. Just the mystery required. Faved. J :)
