Footprints I've Made

Places and walks, Just who am I? Willing to work, new paths I try. Trails in my past - an office clerk musician’s life, a soda jerk. My foremost route, with no small strife - two kids were wrought as mom and wife. The bills to pay in school I taught - demanding skill with wisdom fraught. Retired, I write my days to fill - footprints to make, some ink I spill

This is an interesting form and it resembles couplets, Reason. How nice that you have time to write in retirement. There were many extraordinary poems in this contest. Congratulations on a well-deserved win! And thank you for supporting the contest. Hugs, Carolyn

Thank you, Carolyn, just discovered this win today. Been busy with grandkids this summer and to find a third placement in your contest gave me a mental boost. Appreciate your encouraging remarks too.
