Fools Doom
This path led down to the point on the river shore
Now covered in ash it’s tree lines did cinder and since then nothing natural grew and won’t do forevermore
Over the water burnt dust and fiery splinters cast a blanket of fire
It was a night where white cloud hung low in black sky
A night of otherworld cries and where otherworld eyes saw
A golden light in space cast a shadow in the dark
A golden light showed a trace of a race once human now millions of light years apart
But it was here at this point that their message came through
If we carry on this way we will have created our own doom
Our legacy on earth will not be one of great minds and great deeds
Our legacy on earth will be a race that destroyed all living things
Do we unite and turn the tide away from our imminent doom or do we be remembered as the race of fools that grew apart to design its own doom.
