Flip Flop

Seasonal writing may be fraught
with dreams that hip and hop,
feelings that flip and flop.
We want, of course, that which is not.

In crushing heat, chill winds must blow.
We write of cool, crisp days.
We write of warmer ways
when cold, and craft a camp fire’s glow.

Fall is a transitional thing
when the winds huff and puff.
Fickle, we cry “Enough!”,
and write of gentle, greening Spring.

So write away until no more
weather shapes fertile pens.
Leave the seasons to cleanse
our pens and let our musing soar!

We always grumble in whatever season we are but somehow each season increases our muse.

Its so true Linda, in oppressive heat, we wish for cooler weather, on chilly days we hope for sunshine, in drought we pray for rain and when it rains too much we pray it will stop and we commit our pens to express our discomfort. Loved your poem!
