Flickering Insight

The flicker of light green catches the corner of my eye
From clothing of leaves worn on the trees
With sun shining between the wooded shade
For a moment, I thought a spark of wisdom ignited
To solve life’s problems abound
But, there must be more than one voice
And censorship should not exist
Imagine some high ranking people restricting other’s speech?
Yet it happens in these days!
The wildlife speaks freely, bringing us comfort in songs
Coming from those flickering leaves
Where the breeze moves smoothly along
And I must say, our voice should flow too
Flickering, shining, on every bit of truth
We should never give in to silencing
Leaving us standing like bare trees with nothing to say!

Interesting how you moved from nature's freedom to censorship and back again. Nicely done, Heidi. :) gw

Well said Heidi, we should be able to express ourselves freely without persecution or ridicule. We don't all share the same views and should respect others beliefs. Tom

As rational beings, we have the need to express ourselves the way we think is the most appropriate, and as free beings, we have the right to make our thoughts known without being restricted in any way. Your poem makes it clear in an emphatic and beautiful way, dearest, Heidi. Excellently done. Hugs xxx

Yes, I completely agree with you Demetrios, that we have this right and it should not be restricted. Thank you for letting me know how it reaches you. I am grateful for your kind feedback. I hope you have a nice day. Hugs xxx

Wow! You are on a roll today. Great poetry. You are a profound thinker. Strange how Free Will is so misunderstood by many. God gave us total freedom -- to create a beautiful world or destroy it. Nothing we see has not been created by the combined will of humanity...-- and then these fools that restrict Free Speech. It is against that basic nature of Man (woman, whatever):) Another fav!!

Thank you so much for your acknowledgement of this one Joe. The restriction of free speech lately, bother's me a lot and is so wrong. You are absolutely right, it is against the basic nature of man and woman. I am happy you consider this a Fav. That means a lot to me. :)
