Flashing Lights Behind

Flashing Lights Behind By Elton Camp There is a certain sinking feeling When with a cop you’ll be dealing Since whether you are guilty or not You are about to be put on the spot What claim does he intend to make? Perhaps you did make some mistake Or behind a sign his cruiser he set He hasn’t got his ticket quota yet Dozens of speeders now pass you by, But to stop them he doesn’t even try It’s over to the shoulder and to a stop And up stalks the obese, grinning cop “You must not know the limit here. That you were two miles over, I fear. A safety lesson you now need to learn And credit on my record I need to earn.” The best thing is tightly close your yap, And wish Zsa Zsa was around to slap What you say will get a smirky reply So it’s best that you don’t even try To get a better job the cop wasn’t able And may well be a man who’s unstable That such as he are allowed a gun to tote Should make a big lump in your throat Besides, it the absolute truth you will tell You’ve been speeding other times as well Only this time you happened to get caught So just accept the ticket and say naught

Hey Carolyn, I live in the area of Alabama struck by the devastating tornadoes, so was offline for a while. To see everything I've written you can go to www.scribd.com/Elton45623287 We got by in this town with minor inconvenience, but 15 miles down the road there was utter devastation with much loss of life. Thanks for reading. Elton

Very clever, Elton. I'd been wondering where you've been. As for the cop stops, I have learned to act respectfully and apologize profusely. They seem to respond well to courtesy, but I sure did enjoy the humor here. Love, Carolyn
