Phillip...Clear has more of the sound of ear or here..Air has more the sound pair, chair, there, mare, stare, rare and also there, their, compare..I hope this helps some..I go to rhymezone on the internet for help..A good rhyming dictionary can also help..I know that Spanish words are different..Sara

Phillip air rhymes with Claire!! Anyway, I found the funniest part was P U, and Jan does not even know that expression. OH my,I had no idea they did not use it in England. But come on, you can't try to say air rhymed with clear is american sound!! Congrats my friend.

Right. Air rhymes with Claire, which rhymes with chair, which rhymes clear. I promise when I say it outloud they're perfect rhymes. I feel like I'm gonna lose this battle though so I give up. It's a forced rhyme, I humbly apologize

Thank you- I was very proud of my 34th place finish out of 35 entries. I think Jan forgets who won the Revolutionary War sometimes :)

Congrats on your win Phillip this was a fun poem. the rhyme on the second one wasn't exact and I didn't understand the humour on final one and you also omitted your own title. :-) hugs Jan xx

Andrea questioned my rhyme in the second line too, I disagree but i forgive you....just this once you stinker! You folks overseas don't use the phrase P.U.?

You are now under arrest. P.U. is a crime. Sheriff.

Thank you! And air and clear fit as perfect rhymes for this Texan. Do they not do so for you? I remember a long time ago asking Jan about a limerick I wrote which I thought rhymes perfectly fine and she responded with something like "none of it rhymes, it has to rhyme!" And then I realized that southerners should never ask anyone from anywhere else for rhyming help
