First To Go Up

Who will lead the charge,
be the first to go up?
Who will be the one who will start
to spread courage
throughout the camp of the host?
All of the faithful know
that the battle is the LORD’s
But we were chosen to be vessels
to witness and glorify
And should it be on this sacred altar of praise,
perhaps to fall on the battlefield and die
Who will be the first one to go up,
to engage the enemy without fear?
God is on the side of His righteous people,
therefore, holy must we remain
So that our soul won’t be counted among the slain
Who will lead the charge,
who will go up first?
Who will leave the wounded last,
who will give drink to their thirst?
Save us, as in times past,
O my God ...
save us with a mighty thunder burst
In the midst of the howling wind,
let it be me who honor thee
Let it be me first
	          to willingly up
			           go
