It seems like every season is my favorite when it first gets here.

The first snow of the winter, And it's really coming down. Large geometric flakes, Drift slowly to the ground. Painting trees and fences, In garlands of dazzling white. Making all it touches, A beautiful sparkling sight. A Norman Rockwell post card, Bringing memories of youth. Dreams of bygone days of yore, Nostalgic scenes to soothe. Rushing out I lift my face, To catch flakes on my tongue, And once more I'm ten years old, Playing, having fun. Building snowmen, throwing snow, Sliding down a hill, I'm cold, I'm wet and I feel great, Even through the chill. The first snow of the season. It's falling faster now, Making this a fairy land, A picture post card town.

Yours is a lovely, catchy, smooth flowing poem, Judy. To me, snow is beautiful, mostly because over here in Malta it never snows. What a contrast in weather...you have snow, while I'm still swimming! Regards // paul

Snow always restores the child in us, Judy, and it is so uplifting just to watch it fall. You have captured the feelings of joy so well. Perhaps you live in one of the states that saw snow this past weekend in SEPTEMBER. Forecasters said one city in Montana had four feet. Really enjoyed your poem and I share your feelings about snow! A fave for me. Hugs, Carolyn

Hello Judy … nicely written and rhymed Judy. Snow to me is associated with cold as we don't have snow here in Southern Australia - thank you Judy - Lindsay

We are in Alberta, Canada. Never did care for the city being a country girl at heart. I love the clean air and wide open space. I hear N.Y. State is lovely though. Thanks so much , God Bless, JB

This is absolutely delightfully penned, Judy. I hate snow and ice, and yet this poem warmed my soul. It's going straight into my FAVES. Love the rhyme and rhythm too. Thanks, Gershon

Thank you so much Sandra. Here in Alberta we have a love/hate relationship with snow. If we don't have enough snow in winter we don't have enough water for our cattle so we need the snow. However there are a lot of traffic accidents in winter because some people don't drive more carefully in the snow. Thanks bunches, God Bless, JB

Yes my silent friend it has been snowing for three days now. We have a saying in Alberta, Canada. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WEATHER, WAIT A MINUTE. Because it can suddenly change in a matter of minutes. Thanks bunches, God Bless, JB
