First Kiss

With words not ever spoken
I focused on her lips
I knew just how she felt
When she leaned in for a kiss

The feeling, like explosions
From deep down in my toes
Filled me with much emotion
That it even touched my nose

I thought I’ve felt it all before
But was wrong until just then
When that kiss had sparked a fire
That I hoped to see again

That feeling lasted a long time
In fact it never went away
For each time that I kiss her
It’s like that very first kiss day

That day’s remembered fondly
For the first kiss is the best
But if you keep a lasting love
That kiss outlasts the rest

This is just extremely beautiful, Michael. You've tapped into the heady feeling of a first kiss...and (more importantly) the comfort and fullfilment of commitment. So very well done! Donna
