First Flakes of Snow

I can remember so long ago When we anxiously awaited The very first flakes of snow. Dressing warmly, just so-so Our anxiety was unabated I can remember so long ago, A change in the status quo Snow’s appearance is overrated The very first flakes of snow! As we aged, it became a woe One storm and we were sated. I can remember so long ago, Our faces would be all a-glow Each one uniquely created The very first flakes of snow. We wanted to save it to show But, alas, it could not be crated I can remember so long ago, The very first flakes of snow!

Snow anticipated in Missouri-tomorrow - wish I could see my students faces but it is Sunday and I live in Kansas.

Well, knowing weather forecasts in Missouri, it may or may not snow. As for Kansas, it may or may not snow, too.

Nice memory, Milt. Did you build a snowman too? How about sticking out your tongue so that the snowflakes would melt on it? ... Problem is, I don't have to remember those first flakes of snow; they come back every winter to ice and slush up Chicago's sidewalks and streets. ~ Shovel-ready Plowman

Not during that first tentative snowfall, gw, which generally doesn't last long enough or build up big enough for a snowman in this part of the country. I do recall sticking out my tongue though, for that very reason.
