First Day of Lockdown
First day of lockdown
I was enjoying everything
Had a healthy breakfast after that
Watched tv ,played on line chess
Had a good nap to complete relax.
About 11 o clock i left the bed
Put on slippers and stepped forward to door
Opened it lazily
Shocked by calmness of city
What happened today here
But recalled soon, 'today is lockdown,'
I shut the door hurriedly.
Came into the bedroom
Again held the remote and searched channels
But regret there was nothing which can make me busy
So i tried on line chess but got defeat
Nothing was going right way
I watched the time it was 12'o clock.
It is very difficult to kill the time
When you had nothing to do.
Nervously I put on sleepers and
Again stepped forward not to door but window
I peeped through slightly opened wooden pane
But shocked again to see all blank.
As loser i returned back.
I made my mind to fight lockdown as brave man
And planned to spent 7 more hours before dinner .
I moved slowly and silently to kitchen first time
Where my better half was making lunch.
'Do you want any help ' i said
'Are you fine dear ' she asked
Yes, I am fine, replied me
I need some work to help you
What can i do for you, I asked
Whatever you liked dear , she smiled
I searched here and there in kitchen
Suddenly I saw onions and knife there
Dear, can i cut onion ?
Ok ,but take care,she said
As i cut first slice of onion
There were tears in both's eyes
For both reasons pleasure and sorrows.
An old saying, 'trouble never comes alone '
I realised hard truth that day
I had cut both onion and index finger
It was bleeding fast
'Bring cotton and dettol' ,i screamed
She brought only cotton with delay
'Where is dettol?' I asked
It was emptied last week.
Go and bring from medical store, i ordered
'Today is lockdown', she said
Is medical store closed too? I asked
'Yes ,it is Janta lockdown
All is closed by will' ,she said
'You are lazy and careless,' i started the quarrel
This was the first remark that i had made
After that there was hot exchanges of words
I stepped toward gate
Opened it and closed at once angrily.
Sometimes later i ringed to pizza cafe
They replied in very sweet tune, sorry sir
I again ringed to tiffin centre to dinner
The answer as expected, sorry sir
I looked helplessly toward her
But she was hurt badly
Thus i spent first day of lockdown
Without lunch and dinner.
