Fire Does Not Discriminate

Fire does not discriminate. She treats us all equally. She consumes everything in her path – wood, cotton, linen. Leaves gray and black smoldering devastation behind. Popping and crackling, she inches up like a snake. Trees, houses, sheds, garages, churches, shudder and fall. Bowing to her majesty, as she races past, ignoring their genuflection.

True, and she is a beauty! Until she is devastation.

Like everything else we become aware of, fire is what it is, it can be good when it saves someone from freezing to death and bad when it kills. Interesting thoughts in your fire poem, Caren. Hugs, Bill

And when she steals a family's home, she is most horrible. Good poem, Caren, on an interesting subject.

She is awful! And yet I am fascinating - possibly a pyromaniac.

Strange, from this human's perspective: it makes way for the new, fertilizing the ground, while making the heart never again wanting to see. I hate war also. I hear you.

I am glad you recognized fire as devastation for she is.
