Finding Closure

You are not alone in your quest for peace. The pain and hatred you carry deep within you... year after year is like a poison to your soul... which is well known to thousands...all over the world. You did nothing wrong... you didn't deserve it... It never should have happened... but it did. Robbing the innocence of your childhood. It has affected every aspect of your life. Try as you may...you can't forget or forgive. You want this perpetrator to pay for what he did... but life isn't always fair... the bad people don't always get punished... at least here on earth. A time will come when God will avenge the wrong. The longer you hang on to this... and let it eat you from the inside out... the longer he holds a part of you... you will remain a prisoner in his black pit. Let go of the past... don't let the bad of yesterday suck the life out of you. You are better than that. You are beautiful and wonderfully made. You can't explore the love and happiness... that others try to share with you... until you find closure... Let your past hurts go... then welcome in the sunshine. P.R. Deremer

What an amazing write Pam, so sad how countless children suffer, mostly from their close relatives, the trust is broken forever. I love how you urge them to let the rage and hurt go, and leave it in God's hands. I wrote a similar one called I was just a kid, one of my first posts here on the soup!

No child should have to go through this, and it is horrific how so many do... Such trauma is difficult to over come and you have highlighted that in your poem..
