Fill my Chalice with Love
Each time I met you, I was drawn to you
Felt an unnamed sensation growing within.
Every thought of mine, wandering aimless,
Finally converging on a single image.
My heart was getting connected to you day by day,
Creating in me strong surges of emotion.
It was a sweet ache I found so coy to reveal.
We treasured our love, never openly confessing
And kept it like a treasured gift unopened.
You were a presence that lingered on
And ruled every thought of mine day and night.
After I met you~
The flowers in my garden looked lovelier,
The stars looked brighter, the breeze always singing,
Wondered when flowers that bloomed be gathered
To string together to garland us on our wedding day!
But before I could even smell or caress their petals,
Frost fell on them killing them one by one.
Now your absence stares me right on the face
Turning me into a weeping willow.
Once you shone in my world like the sun at midnight.
The happy world I once fashioned around you,
Has collapsed and I feel so left out and lonely.
Under the marauding wheels of pain, I am crushed.
Silence burns inside and thoughts bleed red, leaving scars.
I wonder if time turns, will scars stain the sky?!
After you left, every threshold I have crossed
Has turned into a long road, thorny, full of potholes
A nameless pain overwhelms me and eats me up
In the place where I churned my dreams,
What remains now is a blackhole, dark and dreary.
I remember how I loved your fleeting glance,
The flicker of your eye, the quiet mischief in them,
Your smile that spoke without words,
Your nod without open affirmation.
Now how I long to be by your side
To burn in the flame of love’s fire
Touch and feel your passion’s fervor
Supping it to my heart’s content.
How I wish to be in your endearing presence,
To feel your body’s every breath and pulse
To forget life’s tumult and tussle
To break open the cocoon of loneliness
With my body snuggled close to you
To be lost in the sonata of love!
I fill my night’s chalice with knots of d e s i r e
Well knowing it is so
