File M For "memories"
The retinal canvas is stretched
to limits of world holding filing cabinets
sugar scrubbed, sanded and gleaming in swirls
cleaned of all dust found in squeak and in polish
steel shining up sacred knowledge within it's belly
From polarized moments to nocturnal sounds
that were caught at the moment their image impressed
This is the oil rubbed chalk scratched delight
that the eyes confiscate to be thumb nailed and pulled
as the signal command from the optical nerve
lifts the reigns and shouts: "Go Go Go Go!!!!"
The memory is snapped up from steel and from jelly
the whites of the eyes twitch and brain stimulate
to fleece every file 'till finally arrives
the colors of water, acrylic and charcoal
framed up in chemicals photo and swept
for magnetic fingerprints to be stamped grade A pure,
in a saving of unadulterated life history.
