Whirling memories as dream-like pebbles On a beach or in my pockets, in my hands Opening and closing, opening and closing Holding on tight, knowing them elusive Vortex of films and fragments, tearing my brain. Filaments of partial awareness Hum hum of distant voices closing fastly in Overwhelming all surrounding invasive Windstorm of emotions, feelings, unfinished thoughts. Softly spoken incomprehensible sounds. Consciousness slowly returning Human hand in mine, warm and comforting. *** March 12, 2017 © Darren White

An intelligent, beautiful piece Darren :-) You are well on your way to becoming a master wordsmith with this brilliant write. I have been privileged to witness the power of touch in the most terrifying of circumstances. Your poem reminded me of its strength. Bravo blessings, lynn

Yes, that human touch is indeed comforting and it imparts the knowledge that we are seen and loved.

And what a unique and marvelous state of mind to be when just returning from half awareness to the full awareness and as you say to the warm and comforting hand. Good Morning Darren. This is beautiful and only the free verse/quatrain format could pull this message off. This was a great way to start the day. Honestly. Well done and expressed throughout.

Good morning, Lisa :) That is exactly how it can feel. I've been there many times, but that one time when a hand was holfing mine, that one time remains the most vivid in my memories.
