Notes About The Poem

Feline On the Town

Feline on the Town
                         8/21/2023

Tried to bathe cat in my kitchen sink,
She ran out the back door in a wink!
          Kitty, my kitty,you are bad.
Too much beer you indeed had!
Here you recline in public, very stoned.
Taking you home right now, to atone!

I have never given a cat a bath. I can imagine it being very difficult and dangerous! Your poem is so cute and funny! That picture is purrrrfect for your poem. Did you find the picture first or write the poem first? A delightful write! Blessings, Kim M

Hi Kim Purrfect! I have given cats baths lt was decades ago. They were ill and needed one. No fights. My present, Irene, would never stand for that. It’s a job to brush her… for cats..Cat Wipes . do work well. I saw the image first, then, had to figure out the story. That was a challenge, it’s almost 100 degrees here, and has been for the past week. So,…..have not been online much. Cats vary in personality. If you have a touchy cat, I suggest a bath by a groomer.. AND soupmai in a hour. It is now 7:30 pm. Panagiota xx

Dearest ML. You know you are always an inspiration to me, since my early days, for new or old poets who are obsessed with getting 100 comments or more, I complained to ML that I wasn’t getting enough comments, with her wisdom, she asked me…ARE YOU-HERE TO GET COMMENTS OR..WRITE POETRY.” To new writers, keep writing. I still get few comments! But I have produced a ton of poetry. I encourage writing as much as is possible. ML.,like you, I loved the picture and was pleased you liked my poem .. humor is magic to me as is the touch of a poet - friend. Merci, Pangie

Hi Robert.. I changed the form to rhyme,as was informed it’s no limerick, good to learn things, sorry for my error. But, limerick or not, it was funny. Glad you visited and commented. Panagiota

Dear Ayana, I don’t live on any of the major fault lines. I am 600mikes away from the winds and rain. Are you alright? Did you feel anything? I felt plenty earthquakes in San Francisco, though. But they lasted a few minutes.soup me and let me know how you are doing.OK? Cats are fun + loving. Thank you…Pangie

Roflmao…” hits the spot” wasn’t there a beer ad like that long ago? Or was it soda pop? Well, I am pleased tot get the Gershon Seal of Approval. I am thinking of a few others now. You know, these limericks would have been fun to do on stage years ago. BTW, I saw an 89 year old comedienne on TV, funnier than the potty mouths on the planet! WHO delight in being gross!. You rub a big smile to this Nana, Thank you. Pangie

Love the wit in this one, Pangie! That is a typical pose that Jeff assumes when he wants a tummy rub. In fact he is in that pose on the desk as I type this! Bob H

A drunk kitty-perfect for a limerick! This is funny Pangie, but not very funny if it drank the good stuff.
