Frozen drifts of snow will soon melt upon the high bluff Ending Winter's hold, in time for warmer days of reprieve Blooming will be a tulip, sprouted from a dormant bulb Ring-Necked Doves will happily coo with joyous fervor Unbound we'll be from the fear of catching the dreaded flu Anxious for temperate weather to green lawns and flora Relinquishing its seasonal right as a month of chilly weather Yielding, February will step aside, for Spring is on its way

a pleasant and enjoyable Acrostic, Lin. Your words echo my own observations and thoughts about spring's impending arrival. Just one more day til 'February steps aside.' I'm more than ready. Windy here too today and then chilly but the end of bleak, chilly winter days is in sight. Hope you're well...have a pleasant evening, hugs, Sara

Thanks, Sara. It took a while longer to make this one work because it spells February on both ends.

Lin this is a pleasure. Flowers and warmth are much welcomed by many of us in colder climes. I particularly like the line you created about Flu--made me smile. It is so unpleasant to get sick, it does grate on our minds when we go out or if someone comes into our home. It is a relief not to worry about that. You put it in such poetic context that brings a long-lasting smile. TY!!

Lin, I had never seen a shadow acrostic before this one. I didn’t even realize what you did. Your comment response revealed it to me. Now I am even more impressed with you! Silly me thought the title was February-shadow. I’m embarrassed now!

Thanks. I needed a word ending in 'u' to make this a shadow acrostic... February spelled on the first letter on the left and last letter on the right. I'm happy to have made you smile.

It's seemed like Spring in my neighborhood for a month. Thanks, Jay.
