Feather-Tipped Thumb

I’m an idiot; I keep bending
my feather-tipped thumb

like lumber; not limber
this knuckle bone nail

painted cheap-pink; thinks
only of ink in bottomless pit

push, press, plunk; put on
the old brace to restrain

but don’t you know; the sucker
will escape ‘cause the writer

just can’t give it a rest; useless
to try - won’t cut it off, right?!

                        Write!
                                  .
                                    .
                                      .
                                     .
                                     .
                                     .

Just allow your fingers to hold a pen and keep on writing. At times pearls will be showered.

It sounds like your thumb is a slave to your muse?

I don't care how much pain I was in, I'd write, too. I wish you relief, so poetry comes easier- although with you, it's always seeming effortless. Hugs, regards

I feel dense and I'm admitting it. You're not talking fingernail, like a initially thought, but 'writing', the thumb wants ink and to write. Crafty, and clever, unless I got it all wrong, in which case I hope you'll tell me so I can erase my ignorance. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Kind of a mixture of thoughts. The problem thumb has a pink nail. Hugs
