Fear of Losing You

In the stillness of the night, I find, A haunting fear that clouds my mind. What if the day should come too soon, When fate decides to change its tune? Your laughter, like a melody, The anchor to my sanity. Yet shadows loom, and whispers creep, Invading dreams when I should sleep. I clutch your hand, so warm and strong, Afraid that life might do us wrong. What if a breath, a chance, a sigh, Would steal away my heart's reply? A world without your touch, your voice, Is not a world, but empty noise. The thought alone, a silent scream, That wakes me from a restless dream. For every moment, every glance, A precious gift, a fleeting chance. I hold you closer, breathe you in, For fear that time might wear us thin. But in this fear, a love so pure, A bond that time could not obscure. Though future's veil may hide the path, Our souls entwine beyond its grasp. Forever, I am here with you , Through every dawn and evening dew. And though I fear what might arise, Our love remains, beneath the skies.
