Fear Based Hatred
I don’t want you to look at me
unless you look with respect
or a tender, delicate, gentle kind of love
or something in the categorization of appreciation
else, to myself, I am an abomination
and I don’t want you to say I’m hot
or even just to hold the word in your thoughts
I don’t want my body to be something you think about
to get you feeling hot
I don’t want to be that kind of thought
I don’t want to be sexualized
I’m not a feminist
I just don’t want to be your object
or anyone’s toy
those get broken and abandoned and when they’re no longer wanted,
they are discarded.
because who would want
a broken, used, worn, scarred, and dirty toy?
When i’m no longer perfect,
I’m no longer desirable.
When I can no longer be sexualized,
I have no purpose.
When He can’t do to me,
the Things he dreams of doing to me,
I become useless, and I don’t matter.
and How am I
to blindly believe a scripture
knowing the things I do
and the things I don’t
and being told the things I am
while knowing I’d be SAFER as a man
because then I wouldn’t have to worry about the things I worry about
the things people my kind are deathly afraid of
this is a fear-based hatred.
when I say I hate men
I mean I hate the atrocities they are found capable of
the harm, hurt, and damage they cause
and Maybe
I don't want to date you
Because I don't want to give any man
The right to touch me
The right to my body
