Father Son

Tall, back broad, voice resonant and deep. Chisel stone gaze within crenellated keep. Lightening and thunder; argument claws the air. Mirror image endures; my frailty laid bare. Conflict in your eyes. Hold fast a while. Remember! All that has been; your safe keep and nurture. Let's put aside our differences. Accept what I am: My Son grown up and now a man. What care now I if you are foolish, should fail. More than life itself my love, take my hand and prevail. Live well and love. Have courage; battle when you have to.Learn from mistakes and raise your child like when I first met you.

Very moving poem, David. The message of guidance from the father had much wisdom. (I used to think my father had it all wrong; but he got "smarter" as I got older. LOL) Enjoyed reading your poem. Thanks for sharing. Love, Carolyn
