Father Christmas and His Loves

What do you love the best about Christmas? Father was asked.
This was not a simple thing to answer, not at all an easy task.
Candy canes, fruit cake, suckers, gingerbread houses, and frosting too.
These all paraded in his mind, as they might with me and you.

Hot chocolate, melting marshmallows, Christmas carols nice.
He was also fond of the glistening snow, and the pretty glassy ice.
Silver bells, smell of pine, 1950’s Christmas trees with revolving lights,
These are just a few of Father Christmas’s delights

Mine, too. I must be kin to the ol' fellow. You are renewing some of the Christmas spirit in me, Caren. I have not had a tree or decorated since Deb left. My Christmas ornaments are being used to decorate the room for a Country Christmas bazaar. That's a good thing!

That is a good thing! I think it admirable that they are being put to good use. I have a small blinking light fiber optic tree we keep up all year long as a night light in our living room. Joe has stopped asking if we can take it down. The answer is NEVER.
