One that fateful morning in 2001, I sat down to watch TV for a few minutes so that I could be rested to go help Doris take Caleb to the doctor..I turned the TV on and saw the second plane hit the second building..
Doris called, "Caleb has another earache
all night he has cried in terrible pain."
Doris asked me to assist for her sake.
Sat down to rest, watch TV once again.
Now in permanent memory~places...

Sara, what moved me most about your beautiful poem is that everyone who witnessed this event knows still knows exactly where they were when they heard the news. Congratulations on your win! There were many great entries, so take pride in your achievement. Love, Carolyn

Yes, it's certainly one of those terrible days no one could forget. I was working in a factory at the time and everyone thought it was a hoax when the news was read out on the radio
