Notes About The Poem

For Constance La France's G Forms - Grook poetry contest. Theme is Death.

A Grook is a type of poem that is aphoristic in nature, and often times rhyming and or short. An aphorism is a pithy that involves a semblance of truth to it. This type of poem is a form of aphoristic poetry, and usually involves themes such as the bitter truths and comparisons of humanity and nature in general.

Fate of Flowers

My soul yearns to wander in a poetic garden,
not to remain hidden under overgrown weeds.. (the poet)

Rumi says; "It is rain that grows flowers not thunder."
Some bloom like roses, some like poppies_
spreading verdant, vibrant and diverse colours..
Sunflowers reach for the sky,
whilst lobelia droop towards the ground...
Yet, nothing blossoms forever ~
we wither, perishing like premature petals..
Those who sowed nostalgic memories,
flourish through generations -
others are forgotten like wildflowers.

Very true. Your words and wise. Congratulations on your win. "Nothing blossoms forever." Whether it is love, life, wealth, etc. it ends or something ends it. "Those who sowed nostalgic memories, flourish through generations -others are forgotten like wildflowers. Lovely written, Silent.

SO, your wisdom shines through your lines with a reminder to "flourish" and remember "nostalgic memories!" So often our kids roll their eyes when we share our nostalgia but, they remember. Your images of flowers are marvelous metaphors that flesh out your quote! This is a treasure trove of imagery and wisdom. Congratulations on your win. Sending you the blessings of a garden in bloom!

Such a sweet poem, Silent One. I so enjoyed reading this one. Yes, "nothing blossoms for ever." Flowers will wither as beauty is perishable like many other things. But the memories they leave behind do not perish. I am sure this will be a top winner. All the Best dear friend.

Dear Silent One, I always loved reading Rumi with so much wisdom and your poem reflects that as well. Ahhh yes there is so much importance in nurturing and gentle actions in fostering growth in our garden and in life. I love reflecting on how I can cultivate my own life and what legacies do I leave behind. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Yes but what if they are undergrown weeds?? Then you would have small stature issues Si I am thinking, There is a hidden memory in Every season, a litratural lining in every living litany.' That Creation causes.' I trust you are well Si.'

Dear S.O: Your quote is beautiful and so true of today. There is so much negative energy concealing all that is true and beautiful. We have to remain connected to what is good.....no matter what. I love the wisdom and there is never a truer analogy to beauty than flowers.

Nothing blossoms forever and theres different colors and scents of flowers, all vibrant and special in their own ways. What a philosophical and deeply moving write on death! One that is deep and truly soulful! You really did an exquisite grook on this subject which is beautiful! “ Those who sowed nostalgic memories, flourish through generations -” so true and I think it is important to make memories and memories they last forever even in death! I love the quote youv used here too and flow and wordplay is stunning really! Meaningful take on this form! Best wishes silent one! You always leave me in awe
