Notes About The Poem

My daughter’s been sick, this season, all week long, and today is her birthday. She was on vacation, what a spoiler. My youngest turned 40 today. Steroids, and now antibiotics. This kicks the rear of the last year. Pray that 2025 gives her all her heart desires through Jesus Christ.

*Batman was a tv show in the 1960’s. His sidekick would often exclaim such things as I have written in this poem.

Fastball-just for fun

Blustering snowballs, Batman,
it's cold enough to blubber

blast the titanic iceberg
from its frozen handshake.

But snowballs that ain’t
formed; fine powdery dust

billowing ‘neath the core, of not hell,
but the moat of the ice queen’s castle.

Frozen icicles, Batman,
drip from nostrils and lips,

welcoming a brew of nog to noggin,
or toddy for the torrential reality

of fastball bugs for tethered sleeves -
the season’s green sleeves.

A yuck of a holiday for some.
A hiccup and cheers to a New Year.

Those bugs are in your writing, too. LOL - I hope that's okay for me to laugh....your brilliance still working, and hopefully it made her smile and feel better <3

Yep, hard to believe how time has flown. Very witty write. Hoping she is feeling well soon. Cheer her up, do a crazy dance or make funny faces, it still works even at 40. Oh, maybe a 58 corvette as a gift. Back then, I had one of those.
