Notes About The Poem

Farewell To Teppo Gren

This tribute’s to dear Teppo Gren He supported both women and men His account’s now deleted As his friends were mistreated He will not post on PS again’ To newbies, kind words he was gifting His comments sincere and uplifting Now Teppo has left I feel quite bereft To pasture’s new he is now shifting His sonnets were a joy to read He’s removed them as his blog decreed I will miss Teppo’s style And there is no denial It’s a great loss to PS indeed Teppo is a man of great integrity and true to his word he removed his poems and deleted his account today. I know he will be greatly missed by many friends he has made on soup over the last 5 years 04/01/20

Thank you Jan for your tribute to Teppo. I did not know him well but his comments to me were always positive. I think that those of us remain on PS are in a position to really step up - to remember to fill his empty shoes with the positive encouragement he gave us. Congratulations on your POTW that is a reminder to us. Thank you for your words!

Congratulations on this great poem being chosen as POTW my friend. I know this honor shows the importance of taking stand in life- a stand for what is right, what is just. As Teppo did and your fine poem highlights that so very well. Truly a great loss to the Soup- with Teppo now gone.. God bless..

It is such a shame on going issues were not dealt with and Teppo took a stand and left the site he supported so avidly. He will be truly missed especially as he was so welcoming to the new poets on the site:-( There are few people now who have the time to put out the welcome mat to greet the new poets. Take care Robert, keeping on writing and blogging and NEVER be deterred from doing what YOU love:-) hugs Jan XX

Back with congrats on Jan on POTW. Well deserved too, sad too that a few create an uncomfortable atmosphere on here that causes poets to leave. We have enough stress in our lives and coming on here is supposed to give you a break from outside life. Tom

Yeah I agree Tom, I would love soup to go back to being the same haven it once was for many but sadly these problems have gone on far too long ,as you know Teppo was not targeted himself but made a stand by trying to protect his friend , who knows if things will change now but admin have been very helpful recently and for that I am very grateful:-) hugs jan xx

I think I just saw this as POTW, but the glitch in PS that interchanges it from one week to the next is in need of a fix. It's appropriate to have been chosen in honor of T.J. and you, Jan.

Hello Jan … this is a real shock indeed. He treated me with the utmost respect and I truly did enjoy reading Teppo's poetry. Any poet of Teppo's integrity will be sadly missed - a lovely tribute Jan - Lindsay

Thanks Lindsay, TJ tried to stand up for his friends he didn't leave because he was targeted but because others were. A sad day for soup indeed as he was such an avid supporter of soup and commented and encouraged the newbies. I remember when I joined a bunch of poets 'rolled out the welcome mat' and it certainly made me feel part of the site. I am so happy to learn my tribute got POTW:-) hugs Jan xx

Jan, he did not get taken off by Soup, did he?? I mean, did he do it himself to make a statement? I just wish he would not have deleted all the lovely poems he wrote and our lovely comments TO him. I know people who get upset and tear everything down but then later they regret it. I Hope he returns but oh my, I just don't get why he took all his stuff down!

he said he would remove his account on 1st April and he was true to his word, he will not be back on soup Andrea. It makes me so sad as he was such a supporter especially to newbies on the site. He wasn't subjected by the nastiness himself but has seen it going on over recent years and when his dear friend was targeted he did his blog to make a point to admin that they should deal with the bullying. Shame his poems have gone, it's even a greater pity that Teppo has gone:-( hugs jan xx

It is the same as a few people who put themselves above everyone else resulting in lockdowns and quarantines. It doesn't make sense to me why PS doesn't weed these miscreant out as worthy poems are needed to attract new poets and make the site profitable. Continue telling it as it is! Aloha! Rico

No one has been more deserving of an honorable tribute than TJ. He has now joined the ranks of the 'dearly departed.' Just a note of thanks to let you know that he and I are alive, well, and still writing. With your sense of humor, Jan...I thought you would appreciate these words as much as all of us who have enjoyed the poetry and encouraging comments of Teppo Gren. Nicely written.

Teppo is indeed a great poet ,kind, generous and honorable man. Your tribute poem to him is a wonderful gift and a revelation of how some sacrifice for the greater good. For the triumph of good over wrong. I shall miss him, miss his wonderful top class poetry and dearly miss composing with him- as we had agreed to do another collaboration just days prior to the trolling incident some started here. Now, I am looking at my path here as well my friend....

Robert please don't follow the same path as TJ and the others who have left the site or are no longer active, we must stay united and prove we are not going to be forced to leave the site . It's gone on far too long and it has to stop and perhaps with teppo posting his blogs and subsequently leaving it is a turning point and admin can finally see what has been going on for years . Stay strong Robert:-) hugs Jan xx
