Farewell To Summer
Fuchsia, scarlet, gold, and crimson colors, seemingly,
Appear overnight amidst the forest-green leaves.
Roses are giving way to chrysanthemums and
Evergreens; as Jack Frost starts sculpting icy
Windowpanes with feathery
Etchings of abstract art.
Lately, subtle changes are taking place;
Like short cloudy days and long cold nights.
Toward the end of Summer's dog days,
Orange mosaics begin blanketing the ground.
Summertime is swiftly slipping away, tucked,
Under the warm wing of a zephyr wind.
Many of the songbirds have already left;
Migrating southward to
Escape the howl of Winter winds, filled with
Rage, in the wake of Summer's death.
