Blinking back tears
Sliding down cheeks, years
Like the dew slides down the petal
of a tender, blush pink rose – it will settle
on the earth beneath
where goodbyes drench, bequeath
an emotional wreath…
Singing visions, reveries, dreams
Silence protected within moonbeams
Reflections of joy, pouring hope
Through the sorrows, pains elope
Adieu sighs through vows
Love that will pray to arouse
Brave affections which dispel
All doubts despite the bluest farewell
Hearts dread the darkness
Loneliness, starkness
Finality of the past leaving behind
The unity heaven designed
Leaving only the sorrow
Hesitating across tomorrow
With loss that reflects the grief
Will goodbye ever find relief?
